NLMWA

Learning and skills

Small, friendly classes run by volunteers from your own neighbourhood — come as you are, and bring the children if you need to.

Classes

Learning a language, sending an email or sitting an exam is easier when there is tea on the table and someone beside you who understands the journey.

Most of the women who join us say the same thing: they came for a class and stayed for the friendship.

What we run

  • English conversation practice, every second Monday
  • Digital learning: phones, email, online forms, video calls and staying safe online
  • Urdu language classes for children and adults
  • Children’s structured Arabic lessons, three afternoons a week
  • Women’s Islamic study: Qur’an, hadith, history and seerah
  • Syrian women’s tajweed, online
  • AI, digital safety and media literacy sessions for young people and adults
