Community and culture

Celebrations, trips and everyday gatherings that bring a neighbourhood together.

What we get up to

  • Eid and Ramadan celebrations, iftar dinners and multi-cultural festivals
  • Coffee mornings, cooking sessions, art and calligraphy, and gardening
  • Community clean-ups and our bench in Cambusnethan Cemetery
  • Heritage projects, including Traces of Empire with WSREC and Historic Environment Scotland
  • Trips and outings — the Antonine Wall, Callendar House and boating on the loch
  • Interfaith dialogue with Interfaith Scotland and the Abrahamic Roots Group
  • Cultural open days that welcome the wider community in

A place to belong

NLMWA started as a handful of mothers who wanted somewhere safe to meet. Thirty years on, those gatherings are still the heart of the organisation — and new faces are always welcome.
