Youth Empowerment Volunteer Event

Young volunteers planned and delivered a Ramadan craft and iftar gathering.

All projects

An event led by young people

The Youth Empowerment Volunteer Event gave young people responsibility for planning and delivering a community gathering. Six youth volunteers led the work, rather than simply attending an activity organised for them.

Craft and iftar during Ramadan

The event combined craft activities with an iftar gathering during Ramadan. More than 35 people took part, bringing a community audience to the volunteers’ event.

Completed with Challenge Fund support

The NL Challenge Fund funded this project. The six-volunteer and 35-plus participant figures are recorded in NLMWA’s 2025 annual report for the 2024–25 reporting period.

This completed event is distinct from the Council-funded Micro Fund project and the younger girls’ group now in development.
